How To Use A Wood Rocket Stove

Image
This wood rocket stove is easy to light, it just takes awhile.  First drop a piece of  fatwood  or wax wood into the upper hole. Then, you light a piece of fatwood or wax wood and insert it into the lower hole of the wood rocket stove. You use the piece of burning wood in the lower hole to light the piece of wood in the upper hole on fire. Do not clog up the hole because you need good air flow from the lower hole through the upper hole. Another way is to just stick a blowtorch in the lower hole.(This way is much easier.) Once you see some good coals glowing in the wood rocket stove, turn your wood rocket stove so the wind is blowing through the lower hole. If you put a pot stand  on the wood rocket stove, you can cook on the wood rocket stove.  Depending on your wood rocket stove, your wood rocket stove can burn for hours. I found that I get about 1 hour of burn time per inch of radius of the wood rocket stove.  Thanks for reading my blog post, be safe and have fun.

DIY Wood Rocket Stove

Wood rocket stoves are very easy to make, you just drill 2 holes that connect inside the log. You can cook on this wood rocket stove or just warm your hands. It shoots a steady flame out the hole inside the log.  I used an impact driver with a 1" spade bit because that was what we had on hand. Standard spade bits are 6" long so I had to use a 12" bit extender from Dewalt so I could drill deeper holes.  An 1.5" auger bit would probably work better, but they cost a lot more than spade bits. I drew the diagram below to show you how to drill the holes to make a wood rocket stove. Make sure the two holes meet so air can flow through. I like to use a flashlight to tell if the two holes connected. If the the holes don't meet, just drill another hole in the side.  A rocket stove  works  by drawing in large amounts of air in through the lower hole due to the chimney effect. Hot air rises out of the top hole while pulling fresh air through the lower hole. Rocket stov

Introduction:     Hi! I'm Mei Makes . Do you like  The Childhood of Malachi Lee ? Do you ever want to read more like it? Well, you're in luck!  An Makes  and I have together started to write other books too! Three books in all!  The Silent Girl, That Math Girl, and The Adventures of Bug Boy and the Treehouse Adventure. Also, Makes Tech Team  wrote one book. The Tech Girl. Unfortunately, no more chapters will be coming out for The Tech Girl. All of the links are below.  First Up, The Silent Girl     The Silent Girl is about Isabella Lee, Malachi Lee's young cousin. (The Silent Girl takes place many years after The Childhood of Malachi Lee.) Isabella's father, as you probably know as Daniel, died during Covid-19. Isabella thinks it's all her fault because she believes that she caused him to die. They were also very close to each other. Isabella is afraid that she will accidentally kill someone else, so she doesn't speak a word until she and her family go on a tri

The Childhood of Malachi Lee (Chapter 1)

Introduction:      This is Chapter One of The Childhood of Malachi Lee, written by Yo Makes and edited by Mei Makes. This is a fiction story, though very loosely is like a person that actually exists. Malachi Lee is the main character of this book. Malachi lives with his two sisters, his mom and dad, his aunt and uncle, his three cousins, and his grandparents. Some words or sentences may be in Chinese. Chinese translations are at the bottom of the page. Malachi is 12 years old. I hope you enjoy The Childhood of Malachi Lee.  Now lets dive in!                                                                                                                                        - Mei Makes      I was feeding our turtle one day as I always do, when she tried to bite me. I don’t know why it would want to do that, since it wouldn’t try to bite anyone else and, I mean, we had quite a bit of people in my family. 12 people to be exact. But then again, nobody really comes over here anyways, beca

The Electronic Accordion -- a REALLY cool instrument!

Image
Hey hey! Finally managed to log on to Blogger (the invites were in my Spam folder).  Well here's a video I made for you a few weeks back about my really cool electronic accordion.  Gan Ma and me first saw this instrument on YouTube a couple years back and we were fascinated by how expressive and versatile this instrument can be.  Finally, after a very long time saving up, we bought one early this year just before the pandemic.  That turned out to be a good time because having it during the lockdown gave me lots of opportunity to practice. At first it was really hard because you can't see where you are playing.  But after lots and lots of hard work practicing, I can finally play some songs! Hope you like this video and find it interesting :-)

Mission Mars: How to Get into the Space Program (Book 1): Make it to the On-site Testing (Part 1): (Chapter 2)

A month of school and training quickly passed. Now it was time to apply online to the on-site testing of Space Training Program. First, was the thing the general information form. On day one, we filled out an extensive form with all our information.       The next day, we carefully checked to see if we had made it to the next level. Despite the fact that 23.475% of people had been denied, we were still there. We took the math test. It was so much harder than what he had trained for, which caused me to wonder if I had passed it at all.       The next day, John wouldn't even log in to see if he had passed, so Asher had to do it for him. John was in the top 19.7987%, but he still passed and that was all that mattered. I did much better ranking in the top 15%.       On the third day, we did the science test. When I started the test, I couldn't read any of the questions. After about 30 seconds, I found out that it had defaulted to the wrong language. I was able to find the but
